About Ashley:

Hi there, my name is Ashley Celaya Dow and my pronouns are she/her. Please let me know what pronouns you use when we meet.

My passion for movement began as a pre-professional dancer, where I was also first introduced to Pilates. I initially used Pilates for injury rehabilitation and cross-training, and continued to practice it throughout college at Loyola Marymount University. As a professional dancer, I relied on Pilates to keep me strong and healthy between performances. After college, I continued my education to pursue a Doctorate in Physical Therapy. However, I took some time off to travel and immerse myself in different cultures around the world.

After realizing that physical therapy school wasn't the right fit for me, I completed my comprehensive Pilates training through Body Arts and Science International (BASI) with a dance specialization, under the guidance of Karen Clippinger.

This career path allows me to combine my passion for movement and group fitness, which I developed through years of dancing, with my interest in the human body from my ongoing education in kinesiology. I truly believe that this is where I am meant to be and I am grateful for the opportunities that this career has brought me so far.

In my spare time, you might find me rehearsing for my next performance with TwoPoint4 Dance Theatre, snuggled up with my animals, or exploring some corner of the world with my husband.

Continued Education

As a lifelong learner, I have completed specializations in Pilates for dancers, and am certified in the Jill Hinson Method for working with individuals recovering from breast cancer.

I have also gained so much from working with people who have scoliosis, and have taken many courses to deepen my understanding of the unique needs of individuals with this condition. I believe that Pilates can be particularly transformative for those with a spiral spine.

I also have a lot of experience working with the LGBTQIA+ community, especially those who are transitioning and have undergone surgeries. I see and support you on your journey.

I understand that your goals are important to you, and that your past injuries and surgeries have shaped who you are. I am here to meet you where you are today and every day, and to work with you to achieve your goals.
